reading Grown Women by Sarai Johnson, I was in awe of how expertly she captured the complexity of four generations of Black women as they navigate through motherhood and daughterhood. this book stopped me in my tracks more than once because of how it handles trauma, joy, and autonomy that I've neverrrr seen depicted in text through the lens of Black women, especially in one family. and now 🥁, we get to talk to the author herself on the characters she dreamed up and and connect with other book lovers IRL. we're joining Black Girl Booked august meeting to discuss all things Black womanhood.
